Jacob ERDMAN, Congress, PA (1801-1867)

ERDMAN Jacob , a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Coopersburg, Lehigh County, Pa., February 22, 1801; attended the common schools; engaged in agricultural pursuits; member of the State house of representatives 1834-1836; elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1845-March 3, 1847); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1846 to the Thirtieth Congress; elected associate judge of Lehigh County Court November 9, 1866, and served until his death in Coopersburg, Pa., July 20, 1867; interment in Blue Church Cemetery near Coopersburg, Pa.
