legendary Hollywood mogul who served as chairman and CEO of MCA for four decades after World War II and permanently changed the landscape of the entertainment industry. As an agent, his client list included Marilyn Monroe, Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, and Betty Grable. In the 1940s, he convinced executives to abandon the stringent long-term contracts that held actors hostage to studios.
