Denver Pyle

Pyle often played characters redolent of the American West and the South. On TV he acted in The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp (1955–56), Tammy (1965–66), The Doris Day Show (1968–70), and the Dukes of Hazzard (1979–85; he also directed this show). His movie appearances include The Alamo (1960), Shenandoah (1965), and Bonnie and Clyde (1967).
