A member of the New York intellectuals, a group of writers and critical thinkers of the 1930s, '40s and '50s, Trilling wrote reviews and essays for The Nation, The New Yorker, Harper's, and The Saturday Review as well as five books, which include Mrs. Harris: The Death of the Scarsdale Diet Doctor and The Beginning of the Journey. She was married to Lionel Trilling, one of the country's best known and respected thinkers of the 20th century. Until the time of her death, Diana Trilling wrote daily from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.
