From the land of IKEA comes Show Me Love, a refreshingly unadorned movie about teenagers facing the thrill of romance, the boredom of small towns, and the unpredictability of their hormonal responses. Agnes (Rebecca Liljeberg) is a melancholy loner ostracized as a lesbian. When, at her 16th birthday party, the blonde flirt Elin (Alexandra Dahlstrom) kisses her on a dare, Agnes' longtime crush is requited while Elin becomes secretly excited.
Show Me Love was a box-office success in Sweden. Its frank yet easygoing realism lifts it above most American productions on teens in love.
