Here are the nominees for actor in a leading role. Both Daniel Day-Lewis and Denzel Washington have won previously in this category. Washington won for Training Day in 2001. Day-Lewis has won twice, once in 1989, for My Left Foot and for There Will Be Blood in 2007.
