The noisy mayhem of the 1998 Family Values Tour is reprised here on this disc culled from tour stops in Virginia and New Orleans. Mixing bone-shrieking metal with hardcore rap, the lineup includes some major faves of the fist-pumping set. Some of it's incendiary, like Limp Bizkit's playful “Faith” and their mosh-anthem cover of House of Pain's “Jump Around.” But some of it is dreadful, like Rammstein's half-witted “Du Hast.” The inconsistency is typified by Ice Cube's three-song set that hits hard with “Natural Born Killaz,” before bottoming out with the mindless N.W.A. track trashing police. Korn fans get the most bang for their buck here, thanks to the band's 20-minute slot that features a crushing version of its latest single “Freak on a Leash.” A companion-piece 86-minute home video has also been released in conjunction with the CD.
