Commitment to Development Index, 2007
From Netherlands to Japan
by Beth Rowen
The Commitment to Development Index (CDI) rated 21 rich
countries on how much they help poor countries build prosperity, good
government, and security. Each wealthy country was scored in seven policy
areas: aid, trade, investment, migration, environment, security, and
technology. The ratings were averaged to produce an overall score, with 10
as the highest.
