On this date in 1981, a tornado decimated Emberson, Texas. Homes were leveled, and a man in a bathtub was hurled a quarter of a mile but, amazingly, no one was killed in the twister. Witnesses reportedly did not see the funnel cloud of the 450-yard-wide tornado but rather just a large wall of debris.
