Prospects: Could advance to round of 16 with a tie or win over Yugoslavia. Should lose to Germany and beat Iran. Key to advancement is Yugoslavia game. Will not make it past second round unless something startling occurs. USA would most likely play Mexico or the Netherlands in a second-round match. World-class goalkeeper Kasey Keller can keep the US competitive but scoring goals could be a problem. The US has shown little offensive punch as of late.
