Description: THE LAST CIGARETTE takes a satiric look at the mysterious appeal of tobacco, its mythology, and cultural significance. By compiling Hollywood clips, vintage cigarette commercials (you'll be amazed at how they come right back to you: "LSMFT: Lucky Strike means fine tobacco"; "Winstons taste good - like a cigarette should"), and smoking esoterica, the filmmakers construct a wildly funny smokers' world view. Even more amusing is footage of Congressional hearings which attempt to pin down tobacco executives on what they know about the dangers of their product and when they first knew it. Ultimately, the film takes sharp aim at the uncivilized tactics employed by both sides in the smoking wars.
