Description: Jost plays with the concept of narrative, constructing a conspicuously fictional romance for the screen (and split-screen), only to have reality mimic fiction when his actors become an item. The art and street life of Paris frequently hijack the fictional narrative -- the director's way of never letting the viewer forget that it's only a movie.
