NFL Football Arizona (NFC): Construction on a new home for the
Arizona Cardinals and Fiesta Bowl is well underway. The 63,000-seat stadium
will be located in Glendale, Ariz. 15 miles west of Phoenix) on a site on
the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway) south of Glendale Avenue and adjacent to the
new home of the NHL’s Coyotes. The stadium will feature a bold design,
with a partially retractable roof and wall and feature a natural grass field
that can be rolled out into the adjoining parking lot in order to help grow.
The stadium would include 88 luxury suites and 7,000 club seats; estimated
cost: $370.6 million. Earliest Cardinals’ home opener will be fall 2006..
