New Events for 2000

Taekwondo and Triathlon will make their Summer Olympic debuts in Sydney. The triathlon will consist of 1.5-kilometer swim, 40-kilometer cycle and 10-kilometer run, while taekwondo will be contested in four separate weights classes for men and women. Also, women's water polo, canoe slalom and the gymnastic discipline of trampoline will appear for the first time.
