Contested by the league champions of South America's football union. Two-leg Semifinals and two-leg Final; home teams listed first. Winner Boca Juniors of Argentina plays European Champions League winner Bayern Munich in the 2001 Toyota Cup in Tokyo in November.

Final Four: Boca Juniors (Argentina), Cruz Azul (Mexico), Palmeiras (Brazil) and Rosario Central (Argentina)
