Eight-time Olympic gold medalist (all in relays) and winner of 12 Olympic medals overall, more than any other American woman; won 3 gold (4x100 free, 4x200 free, 4x100 medley) and 1 bronze (100m frees) for the U.S. at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney; won 2 silver (4x100 free, 4x100 medley) for the U.S. at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
