NBA Basketball

Memphis (East): The opening of FedExForum (FedEx Corp. is the title sponsor) was set for September 2004. The new $250 million home of the Grizzlies, located between Third and Fourth Streets and Lt. George W. Lee and Linden Avenues, will seat 18,400 for basketball (including 64 luxury suites) and 12,500 for hockey. The project includes a new home for the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum, an affiliate of the Smithsonian. The first major event at FedExForum (yes, it’s all one word) was an Usher concert on Sept. 17.
