Playoff Tiebreakers Division Championship—AFC: Seattle (9-7) qualified over Kansas City (9-7) in the West by winning both regular season head-to-head matchups. Wild Card berths—AFC: Miami (9-7) qualified over Kansas City (9-7) due to a better winning percentage vs. common opponents. NFC: Carolina, Dallas, Detroit and Green Bay all finished with 8-8 records. Green Bay was eliminated because Detroit came from the same division and had a better conference record. Carolina was eliminated because both Dallas and Detroit had better conference records.
