American sprinter and former college basketball star at North Carolina; voted Women's Athlete of the Year by Track & Field News in 1997,98 and 2000; 1999 Jesse Owens Award winner; 2000 AP and USOC Female Athlete of the Year.
References to her records and medals have been removed. This follows the decision made by the International Olympic Committee in 2008 to erase her record due to her admission of drug use.
