GM-coach of 4 Stanley Cup winners in Edmonton (1984-85,87-88) and GM-only for another in 1990; ranks 8th on all-time NHL coaching list with 553 wins (including playoffs); entered Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997; named pres-GM of NY Rangers in 2000.
