Tom Brokaw TV journalist Born: 2/6/1940 Birthplace: Webster, South Dakota
Well-respected TV journalist whose popularity with American viewers grew during his term as host of the Today show (1976–82). Brokaw started as a radio reporter in college, then worked in television in Omaha and in Atlanta, before becoming KNBC late-night anchor in Los Angeles (1965–73). He covered the Watergate scandal for NBC (1973–76). He was sole anchor of NBC Nightly News from 1983 through 2004.
