Some Mother's Son | Warner; rental pricing | | Feature; R | | Director: | Terry George | | Cast: | Helen Mirren and Fionnula Flanagan |
In 1981 Northern Ireland, a mother faces the heart-wrenching decision of whether to let her son die for the cause. Profoundly sad, the film focuses mostly on the hunger strike led by Bobby Sands, in which 10 protesters, including Sands, died. Fortunately, in the jump to video, this loose sequel to In the Name of the Father loses none of its poignancy.
