Academy and Emmy Award-winning film, stage and television actress known for her on-screen dignity and radical politics. Her films include Julia (1977), Howard's End (1992), Mrs. Dalloway (1997), and A Rumor of Angels (2000). She was married to director Tony Richardson, and they had two daughters, Natasha and Joely.
