Veronica Lake

(Constance Frances Marie Ockelman)
actress
Born: 11/14/1919

Film actress mostly known for the films she made while with Paramount during World War II. Petite and blond, Lake was popular with the soldiers, and her haircut was popular with their girlfriends. After the mid-40s her star slowly declined, and some potential comeback films made in the '60s were failures. Film credits include I Wanted Wings (1941), Sullivan's Travels (1941), This Gun for Hire (1942), The Glass Key (1942), I Married a Witch (1942), So Proudly We Hail (1943), The Blue Dahlia (1946), and Stronghold (1951).
