The Feast of Love

High in the ranks of under-read and under-appreciated writers, along with Lydia Davis and Mary Robison, Baxter is best known for his provocative short stories. The Feast of Love, his fourth novel, opens with the author himself walking down a road in his hometown of Ann Arbor, Michigan. There he meets Bradley, the main character of his novel, and soon Baxter begins chronicling Bradley's amusing feasts and foibles of love.
