Rudy (Ben Affleck) is a petty car thief, released from prison just in time for Christmas. He cashes in on a case of mistaken identity in hopes of romancing Ashley (Charlize Theron), although her sinister truck-driving brother (Gary Sinise) and his dubious companions pressure Rudy into heisting a casino (assuming he's a different, more accomplished crook).
Reindeer Games is a playful work, with allegiances shifting and metamorphosing with each narrative turn. Doubt, manipulation, love, and the pall of midwinter Michigan. It's violent, fast fun; a kind of sophomoric noir.
