Pitch Black

Pitch Black probably deserves a B+. It's a sci-fi thriller that has little technology or science, depending instead on dark spaces and shrieking horrible creatures that fly fresh from nightmares with a thirst for human blood. Things are fine for the motley crew stranded on a desert planet except for two developments: the homicidal convict (Vin Diesel) they were carrying has escaped, and, even worse, when the three suns go down, nasty things come out. Characters aren't quite who they seem, and the scares come fast enough to pull Pitch Black out of B-moviedom.
