Simpatico

Simpatico is based on a Sam Shepard play, and perhaps its middle-aged macho grappling fared better on stage. Lyle (Jeff Bridges) is a horse-breeder who happens to be filthy rich. His one-time buddy Vinnie (Nick Nolte) is simply filthy. A sordid secret from their past binds these two men together, and Simpatico deals with Vinnie's efforts to get revenge on Lyle.

Despite the efforts of Sharon Stone and Catherine Keener to keep the movie moving with their minor roles, the central drama between Bridges and Nolte drags Simpatico into dullness.
