The man who brought us Bull Durham and White Men Can't Jump takes it to the ring with Play It to the Bone. Antonio Banderas and Woody Harrelson play a pair of washed-up middleweights called out of anonymity by sleazy producers for a low-budget rematch. They don't even receive plane tickets to get to the bout, and must convince their mutual friend and mutual ex-lover Grace (Lolita Davidovich) to drive them to . The result is sandwiched somewhere between a road movie with freewheeling banter, a romantic comedy, and buddy-buddy sports flick where grown-up men pummel each other with childlike abandon and hulking dignity.
