Tim Moore

vaudeville and Broadway comedian
Born: 12/9/1887
Birthplace: Rock Island, Illinois

Best remembered as George “Kingfish” Stevens on the classic series, Amos 'n' Andy (1951–53), Moore began his career in vaudeville, appearing in Cora Miskel & Her Gold Dust Twins (1899–1902). His other vaudeville highlights were The Chicago Follies, (1916–25), A Wedding in Jazz (1919), and Rarin' to Go (1926). His comedic talents were featured on Broadway in Lucky Sambo (1925), The Blackbirds (1928, 1934, 1936 and 1939), Fast and Furious (1931), and Harlem Cavalcade (1942). Moore was captured on celluloid in His Great Chance (1923), Darktown Revue (1931), and Boy, What a Girl (1946).
