Like many of today's successful models, Kathy Ireland has used modeling as the foundation for a small business empire. Familiar to fans of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue (she has appeared in more than one dozen editions), Ireland has also established herself as an actress, appearing in such feature films as Side Out (1990), Mr. Destiny (1991), Necessary Roughness (1991), National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon I (1993), and in the nighttime television soap Melrose Place (1994). Ireland also markets a line of fitness clothes through K-Mart. In addition, she has served as a consultant for ESPN-2's fitness program Bodyshaping, and produced her own fitness videos.
