Dumped by her cardiologist husband (Donovan), Judith (Hunter) takes to the streets and clubs of Manhattan to find herself and build her own identity. The fantasies Judith doesn't quite live out, she imagines in lively, nuanced dream-like sequences. She finds comfort and a sympathetic ear in her doorman, Pat (De Vito), who's a little too sweet and understanding. Queen Latifah as a chanteuse steals every scene, revealing that her talents extend well beyond rap.
