Jim Morrison singer, songwriter, poet Born: 12/8/1943 Birthplace: Melbourne, Florida
The lead singer and songwriter for the rock group The Doors, whose hit songs include “Light My Fire”, “People Are Strange”, “Hello I Love You”, “Touch Me”, and “L.A. Woman”. Other albums include Morrison Hotel (1970) and L.A. Woman (1971). Morrison's death in Paris in 1971 ended the band's career together, but their music is still popular today, helped in part by Oliver Stone's film The Doors (1991). Died: 7/3/1971
