Jon Voight

actor, director, writer
Born: 12/29/1938
Birthplace: Yonkers, New York

Three-time Academy Award nominee for Best Actor, Voight won for his portrayal of a wounded Vietnam War veteran in Coming Home (1978) opposite Jane Fonda. The role also won him a Best Actor award Cannes Film Festival. Voight's other nominations came for his roles in Midnight Cowboy (1969) and Runaway Train (1985). A few awards he'd rather forget are the Razzie nominations he received for the for the flop Anaconda (1997) and for worst supporting actor in Most Wanted (1997). His daughter is Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie.
