Gadjo Dilo

Director/Writer:Tony Gatlif
Lions Gate Films; NR; 97 minutes
Release:8/98
Cast:Romain Duris, Rona Hartner and Isidor Serban

The third installment in Tony Gatlif's Gypsy trilogy, following 1994's Latcho Drom and 1997's Mondo, follows Stephane (Duris), an intelligent Parisian, as he meets a band of Gypsies in Bucharest and finds himself embracing their ostensibly utopic community and falling for the group's pariah, Sabina (Hartner). Stephane must decide whether he should stay with the group or return to his own world. Inspired, well-researched filmmaking from Gatlif.
