Damon Wayans actor, comedian, writer, producer Born: 9/4/1960 Birthplace: New York City
As was the case with others before him, like John Belushi, Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray, Damon Wayans graduated from the Saturday Night Live ensemble comedy show to a film career. In 1998 Wayans had his own TV show, Damon, where he played an off-beat detective solving crimes in a manner that incites giggles from the audience. From 2001–2005 he starred in the sitcom My Wife and Kids, for which he had co-creator and writing credits. His movies include comedies like Celtic Pride (1996), The Great White Hype (1996), and Mo' Money (1992). He wrote the movies Blankman (1994), Major Payne (1994), and Mo' Money. His brother, Keenan Ivory Wayans, makes comedy writing and acting a family business.
