Albert Finney

Born: 5/9/1936
Birthplace: Salford, Lancashire, England

A versatile stage and film star, he gained acclaim as the hero of Tom Jones (1963), for which he earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He was also nominated for his performances in Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Dresser (1983), Under the Volcano (1984), and Erin Brockovich (2000). He won a Golden Globe for playing the lead in Scrooge in the 1970 musical version of the Dickens classic, and appeared as Daddy Warbucks in Annie (1982). His other film credits include Miller's Crossing (1990) and Washington Square (1997).
