Olympia Dukakis

actress
Born: 6/20/1931
Birthplace: Lowell, Massachusetts

A veteran stage actress, she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Moonstruck (1987). Her other movies include Working Girl (1988), Dad (1989), Look Who's Talking (1989), Steel Magnolias (1989), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995), and Mighty Aphrodite (1995). She also appeared in the television mini-series Joan of Arc (1999) and the Armistead Maupin Tales of the City series in 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003. Former Massachusetts Governor and presidential candidate Michael Dukakis is her cousin.
