David Hyde Pierce actor Born: 4/3/1959 Birthplace: Saratoga Springs, New York
Emmy–winning actor best known as Frasier Crane's neurotic younger brother Niles on Frasier (1993–), Pierce is also active on the stage and big screen. Frasier was not Pierce's first brush with psychiatry, either, as his professional acting debut was in a Broadway production entitled Beyond Therapy. He later appeared in the U.S.S.R.–Japanese 1988–89 tour of The Cherry Orchard, the New York Shakespeare Festival's production of Hamlet, and Wendy Wasserstein's The Heidi Chronicles, before landing roles in several feature films. He has appeared in fellow Yale alum Jodie Foster's directorial debut, Little Man Tate (1991), The Fisher King (1991), Nixon (1995), Isn't She Great (2000), Chain of Fools (2000), and Wet Hot American Summer (2000).
