Paul Winfield actor Born: 5/22/1941 Birthplace: Los Angeles, California
Though best known for his work on the stage, Winfield has also been captured on film from time to time throughout his 30-year career spanning serious dramatic, action-adventure, and comedy roles. He has had over 70 featured roles in TV and movies, including Jim in Huckleberry Finn (1974), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), The Terminator (1984), and Presumed Innocent (1990). He was nominated for a best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Nathan Lee Morgan in Sounder (1973), and won an Emmy for outstanding guest actor for his work as Judge Harold Nance in the series Picket Fences (1985). He appeared in several television series, including a role as the wise-cracking mirror in the short-lived comedy series The Charmings (1987), and roles in 227 (1989–90), Wiseguy (1989), and Teen Angel (1997). He revisited Sounder in the 2003 made-for-TV version, this time playing The Teacher. Died: March 7, 2004
