Treat Williams

actor
Born: 12/1/1951
Birthplace: Rowayton, Connecticut

A veteran actor, Williams's career spans 20 years and some 50 roles on the big and small screen. He burst onto the scene in the 1970s, scoring a starring role in the love-in flick Hair (1979) then garnering a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Prince of the City (1982). From there he secured leading roles in television movies including A Streetcar Named Desire (1984), J. Edgar Hoover (1987), and Third Degree Burn (1989). He had his own short-lived series Eddie Dodd (1991) and Good Advice (1993) but by the 1990s was finding more big-screen work, including Things to do in Denver when You're Dead (1995), The Phantom (1996), Mulholland Falls (1996), and The Devil's Own (1997). He received an Emmy nomination for his role as Michael Ovitz in The Late Shift (1996).
