Helen Jepson

actress, singer
Born: 11/28/1905
Birthplace: Titusville, Pennsylvania

This revered soprano spent much of her career at New York City's Metropolitan Opera. However, she gained a wider audience with her one attempt at film—The Goldwyn Follies (1938), a lavish musical flop. Among her celebrated operatic performances were the roles of Desdemona in Othello and Marguerite in Faust, the recording of which is still in print.
