Before garnering attention for her performance as the title character in the movie The Princess Bride (1987), Wright Penn worked as a model and as a member of the cast of the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984–87). Her subsequent films include Toys (1982), The Playboys (1982), Forrest Gump (1994), Moll Flanders (1996), Unbreakable (2000), White Oleander (2002), and Empire Falls (2004). She is married to actor/director Sean Penn.
