A brief appearance as Drusilla/Wonder Girl on the television series Wonder Woman (1976) and roles in forgettable fare like Thank God It's Friday (1978) were easily overshadowed by Winger's breakthrough performance in Urban Cowboy (1980) and successive Academy Award nominations for An Officer and a Gentleman (1982) and Terms of Endearment (1983). Her other movies include The Sheltering Sky (1990), Shadowlands (1993), for which she received a third Oscar nomination, Forget Paris (1995), and Radio (2003).
