Hal Holbrook (Harold Rowe Holbrook, Jr.) actor Born: 2/17/1925 Birthplace: Cleveland, Ohio
Insightful actor active in stage, film, and television but best known for developing and touring with a one-man show of Mark Twain's life. Holbrook got his start in television, appearing in several series and made-for-television movies before heading to the big screen, notably with Clint Eastwood in Magnum Force (1973), Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1973), All the President's Men (1976), and Wall Street (1987). Holbrook seems to have a knack for 19th century Americans, and has played the role of Abraham Lincoln in three TV-miniseries and a 1963 stage role. He is married to actress Dixie Carter of Designing Women (1986–93).
