William Shatner actor, director, writer
Born: 3/22/1931
Birthplace: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Best known as the original Captain of the Enterprise, Shatner was part of Star Trek's original cast (1966–69) and reprised his role in seven big-screen adventures, including Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989)—which Shatner directed—and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991). He joined the cast of the Star Trek: the Next Generation series in its first film, Star Trek: Generations (1994), but by then had already begun starring in televison movies based on the TekWar books he had written. Other television work includes the series T.J. Hooker (1982–86) and Rescue 911 (1989–92).
