A tribute to England's Women's Land Army (the legion of female volunteers who filled in for men fighting during World War II), Leland's period drama revolves around Stella (McCormanck), Ag (Weisz) and Prue (Friel), three volunteer farm hands who get down-and-dirty in more ways than one. Not only are these English lasses dutiful, patriotic and hardworking, they're also sexually curious – and the farmer's son, Joe (Mackintosh), is all to happy to entertain their fancies. Far from just a casual romp in the hay, Land Girls is a nostalgic coming-of-age story in which three very different women must define new roles for themselves as their families and country are torn apart by war.
