Cheech Marin (Richard Marin) actor, comedian Born: 7/13/1946 Birthplace: Los Angeles
In 1969 Marin met a nightclub owner in Vancouver named Tommy Chong. Together they formed the comic duo Cheech and Chong, whose marijuana-tinged humor won them a Grammy Award (1973), gold records, and six film deals. They split up in 1984, and Marin went on to appear in movies such as The Shrimp on the Barbie (1990) and provided the voice for the hyena in The Lion King (1994). Other film appearances includeTin Cup (1996), Paulie (1998) and Spy Kids (2001). Since 1995 he has costarred on the TV series Nash Bridges, with Don Johnson.
