Marisa Tomei actress

Birthplace: Brooklyn, New York
Tomei began her career on television, with roles on As the World Turns (1983–85) and A Different World (1987–88). She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for My Cousin Vinny (1992); her other movies include Untamed Heart (1993), The Paper (1994), and Unhook the Stars (1996). Tomei has appeared onstage in A Comedy of Errors (1992) and Wait Until Dark (1998), and she is a member of the New York theater group Naked Angels, whose other members include Lili Taylor and Sarah Jessica Parker. Her supporting role in In the Bedroom (2001) received critical acclaim and Oscar and Golden Globe nominations.
