Aaron Neville

singer

Birthplace: New Orleans

Neville came to attention as a solo artist with the soul ballad “Tell It Like It Is” (1967); his single “Don't Know Much” (1990), a duet with Linda Ronstadt, won a Grammy. He is equally well known for performing vocals and keyboards with the group The Neville Brothers, together with his three musically accomplished siblings. Their albums, reflecting rock, R&B, soul, and jazz influences, have been compiled in Treacherous: A History of the Neville Brothers, 1955–85 (1986).
